Walden
by Henry David Thoreau
hopeful
informative
relaxing
slow-paced
It reads more like an essay than a story, of a man's collective thoughts about living in nature and his outsider approach to stepping away from society, along with the intrinsic demands of communicating with others and the actions he take as a farmer. There are some very beautiful and thought provoking lines in there, and the prose is very well written.
That is to say, though, this might be the most boring book I have ever read. I did not care to hear about this man growing beans for 30 pages, no matter how metaphorically alluring.
