I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo
4.0
this was super cute and sappy and just slightly dramatic. there were some things that desi did that i questioned but since her friends also saw it, i pardoned it bc it was on purpose so overall really loved this book and i especially appreciate the romance k-drama recs at the end of the book :,-))
my favorite bits of this book were the character relationships. i love the cuteness and chemistry of desi and luka. i love desi’s relationship with her appa. i like that luka’s relationship with his dad changed and that we learned that he’s loyal despite someone’s personality bc, if not, he probs wouldn’t have been able to tolerate desi’s actions. i also really liked how loyal wes and fiona were and that they were helpful and tried to help desi with her goal despite how crazy it got.
some things i wish there was more of were more scenes between wes, fi, and desi; more of a reconciliation between violet and desi; luka slowly improving his relationship with his dad; and (because of the scene at the end) a bit more of luka, desi, and desi’s appa watching kdramas heh
also, thank you maurene goo! not only for writing this (i can’t wait to get a copy of the way you make me feel!) but for also giving me a book to recommend to my book reading averse, k-drama loving friend!
