Rune Winters is on the run from her home. After being outed as a witch, she now has to ally herself with one of the worst witches around, Cressida Roseblood. Rune wants the Republic to end and for witches not to be hunted. But then there is Gideon Sharpe. Gideon doesn’t want another reign of witches and he will do anything to stop it. Even if that means taking out the woman he loves. But these two will have to work together to stop Cressida or else something worse will happen. Find out if Rune and Gideon can put an end to the Roseblood line.
This book was a good way to end the duology. The storyline was good, with both Rune and Gideon trying to figure out how to work together and what they can do. I like that it is a dual POV and we get to see both Rune and Gideon’s sides. My one slight complaint is that the ending felt a bit rushed. I felt like there could have been more to it. Other than that this was a great ending to this world.
