Cage has been sent to his coach's brother's ranch for the summer to bust his butt and keep out of trouble. Cage isn't looking forward to his punishment but knows he needs to keep his head down and do his work so he doesn't lose his scholarship. And then he meets Eva, the rancher's daughter, and he can't get her out of his head. Even if he has been told she is off-limits. Eva is pretending to make everyone around her happy. She is pretending that she isn't still heartbroken 18 months after her fiancé passed away. And she sure doesn't need Cage to come into her life and remind her how to feel.
I liked Cage and Eva. I liked them as individuals and I liked them together. I think that they both complemented each other and brought out the best in each other. But it sure did feel like a light switch with Eva. One day she was still grieving the next she was taking her ring off after 18 months and was ready to give up her V-card that she was saving for marriage. It all seemed a bit off to me. Don't get me wrong, I loved their story and their journey but that aspect of it seemed a bit off to me. Cage is such a complicated beast and he made some pretty dumb choices that made me totally think less of him but I truly love how fiercely he loves. Also there were a few scenes that I would have liked to have seen instead of them happening off page but overall this was another good one in this series.
