One of Robert's best yet. Poseidon and Icarus are perfect foils of one another. Icarus constantly masks his pain and fear by affecting a flirtatious bravado, and Poseidon has no need for falsehoods or lies, and instead sees the truth of Icarus very easily. Also I LOVED the play on the tropes by making Poseidon (the large, beefy bear type) the sub and Icarus (the slender, fem type) the dom. It brought a freshness to this romance that I felt was sorely needed in this series.

It isn't without faults. I feel like Robert has a hard time writing distinct voices - particularly when it comes to characters' POV chapters, if I have to pause partway through a chapter, I find myself flipping back to the start of it to remember whose perspective it is.

Some scenes were pretty cheesy. In an early scene where
Icarus is tortured by one of Poseidon's men,
I was hardcore eye-rolling just because it was so damn predictable, beat for beat.

(Also -- at this point I started to feel like a lot of the "laws" of Olympus are entirely arbitrary and conceived by Robert on the fly as it suits her needs. Maybe they're intentionally somewhat contrived, but I found it somewhat grating.)

I saw several reviews complaining that this one was too plot heavy. This is insanity. This book has plenty of smut, but it also has plot, and the plot serves to further the relationship. It's a good balance, in my opinion.

Overall I really enjoyed this book! Looking forward to the next.
