Into the Drowning Deep
by Mira Grant
I unfortunately didn't like this that much.
I was pretty intrigued by the premise of this story. Before I started reading this, I thought it would have more fantasy or supernatural elements, but even after I realized that it was more of a sci-fi horror, I was still interested. But then I continued reading and I gradually lost interest. There were just so many explanations. I felt like I was being lectured at (and quite literally, considering that I studied some of the topics covered in this book when I was in school). There were also so many characters. With this many characters, you run the risk of some of them not being compelling enough to care about (and there were a lot of characters that I did not care about). By the time I reached the end, I was no longer interested or invested in the story.
So yeah, this book had interesting elements but I didn't really like it overall.
Rating: 2.5/5
