Zen in the Martial Arts by Joe Hyams
4.0
Hmm, yeah - there's a lot of stuff in this book that's great and a lot that's quite coo coo crazy.
The first third (maybe half) has a lot of interesting ways of zen thought that are actually helpful, but the last half veers into crazy talk with stories of people that had surgery with no anesthetic by using zen meditation and people who healed their bones quicker by sheer zen will. Poppycock. Science says otherwise...
It's a quick read and is divided up into super short bite-sized chunks. Worth a read despite the nonsense towards the end.
