Perfect Opposite
by Zoya Tessi
Sasha was all types of annoying from the start and honestly, I think it only got worse by the end.
I wanted to like this book. I really did.
I mean, come on, it had the single most attractive thing a book could have for me: a tattooed/pierced/tall bodyguard. I loved Aleksey at the beginning.
And I think it's my huge disappointment with how this book turned out that's going to make for a real short review. I don't have the energy to review this properly, so I'll list out my main problems
- MC is super annoying. One minute she's hating him to all hell, the next she's drooling over him. I get it, mixed feelings and all. But still. Overdone, I think.
- the first half of the book was set up. pure set up with seemingly pointless information.
- the second half, by contrast, had so much going on that everything seemed dull. It was too much. I couldn't bring myself to care for any of it. By that point I had been reading just to get it done. Predictable, really.
- unnecessary advances by Mike? Why? I don't see why this was added in at all?
- For it being the daughter of essentially a gun kingpin... everything was really.... sage and boring.
- again, the pacing was all over the place.
- what type of b.s.was that
- what type of apology was that?
- that last tattoo, though...............no.
SO, yeah, not for me.
If you want to check it out, though, go ahead. It's free for the kindle app, I believe.

Spoiler
seriously, there was a kidnap, a month time skip, a trip to see his vet friends who stitches him up, a few mentions of sex tossed in, a meet up with the bad guy (who literally does nothing at all throughout the book), a plot twist (which wasn't that shocking tbh, with how horribly bland everything else was),a shooting, a death, an 8 month time skip, a masquerade, and a reunion- unnecessary advances by Mike? Why? I don't see why this was added in at all?
