Antigone by Jean Anouilh

3.0

This is a good and interesting version of the Antigone play. It's not clear exactly when this version is set although it is clear that it is not set in Ancient Greece; there are such modern things as playing cards and chewing tobacco to make that clear enough. Anouilh also explores how wasteful the Antigone story can seem, several people die for what seems to be no reason at all. A good version to read to get a bit of a different view on the Antigone story.
