Paladin's Grace by T. Kingfisher
4.0

I feel like Kingfisher is an author who you know pretty quickly if you're going to enjoy. On my end, I really do enjoy what I've read.

I kinda went at this one on a whim and by accident. I saw a later book in the series tagged under LGBT and figured I'd start at, well, the start. Didn't actually realize it was different couples per book and that they weren't all gay. Ah well, such is life.

Despite the slightly unexpected heterosexuality of it all, I really enjoyed this one. Both leads are very likeable and the chemistry is good. There's the right amount of humor and intrigue and the world-building happens in a nice, natural way. Trust me when I say I cannot handle a fantasy exposition dump.

There is a lot I appreciated about this book, but chief among them is that knitting socks is described in such a way that actually reflects how socks are knit. The fiddliness of DPNs is real, guys.

Oh, and for the love of god let this man
Spoilereat your pussy. I promise he's gonna be a pro compared to the ex.
