I really enjoyed this book. Though, at first, I found the prose too waxing and poetic with an excess of adjectives and specificity of description, once it was explained that the narrator was a poet it made a lot more sense. I saw the twist coming a mile away, but I felt like that didn’t matter because the emotional weight and journey of the protagonist were what carried the story, not simply the plot of her abduction. Because of this, I especially liked that her story did not end wen she was found. We were given further glimpses into the struggles in the aftermath. Overall a powerful story with a well developed protagonist.
