Oxford Book of Poetry for Children by Edward Blishen, Brian Wildsmith

funny lighthearted fast-paced

3.0

Plenty of fun children's poems, but I can't recommend it for children. Many of the poems haven't aged well in their treatment of women or minorities, and I can only assume the word
slut
wasn't nearly as strong a pejorative when this was published as today (several poems use it in their punchline). The real highlight of this book is the tens of anonymous poems, most of which I haven't been able to find in any other sources, and many of them are quite good.
