The Age of Deer: Trouble and Kinship with our Wild Neighbours by Erika Howsare

3.0

I enjoyed this examination of the place of deer in human history and culture. It touches on folklore and art, which I would have enjoyed more of. There is a lot about hunting and butchery and roadkill, so be warned. I would love someone to do a similar examination in the UK. Fascinating in parts. Beautiful animals living so closely with humans and still managing to be wild and mysterious. Survivors, opportunists, much like ourselves.
