19paws 's review for:
Julie of the Wolves
by Jean Craighead George
I probably would not have read this had I not stumbled across a copy at the recent library sale. It’s a good survival story, a wonderful peek into the lives of wolves, and a valuable perspective on the difference between hunting for survival versus for sport. Julie was able to survive on the tundra because her father had raised her in the “old ways” in a hunting camp, and because she had the ability to read wildlife behavior so well. A little far-fetched, maybe, but compelling and interesting nonetheless.
