A Cop for Christmas by Jamie Fessenden

I have to say that I really enjoyed this one.

Mason finds himself with a speeding ticket on his way home for Christmas and understandably, his interaction with police officer Steve, is anything but friendly and warm. What proceeds is kinda a comedy of errors, as these two meet time and time again by chance and under very awkward situations. Each are attracted to the other, but circumstance keeps getting in the way... until it doesn’t and that’s when things start to work out perfectly.

Not much happens, as this is a nice slow burn with an enemies to lovers overtone to it, as it spans several days. I can see some might find this a bit boring, but its strength is in the writing. This could’ve been mundane or trite or just plain awful and stupid, but it wasn’t. The writing was really good and the progression of feelings was gratefully realistic and plausible. Supporting characters were equally interesting that I wouldn’t actually mind a story about shy Sam or brother Kade. This was also nicely, sexily done, though I could always go for more - like that’s a surprise, right? The only complaint I have was that it ended so abruptly. Where is my epilogue dammit!? Regardless, this was my first story by this author, and it certainly won’t be my last.
