Loki: Agent of Asgard, Vol. 3: Last Days by Al Ewing

5.0

Okay, this CAN'T be the end!!! It's labelled as on-going but with no ideas when or if #18 will come out.

This series follows Loki who's had enough being bad and tries to be good by turning himself into a teenager again. It follows him as he molds from the God of Lies into something else, and manages to face down his inner and outer demons which includes a certain Loki of the future. I really enjoyed this series and I'm dying to see what this new, nice, yet still badass Loki does next.

The first volume got a lower rating because it was the introduction and you're kinda just floating around with Loki who's working hard on changing himself without really changing himself just what he does. It's interesting but ends right when it gets good, when he realizes he's being played by everyone, including his future self.

Volume two has more bite. Odin returns and we cover Original Sin and a few other interesting events, but see Loki face his darkest self, the part he's been pretending didn't exist. Doing so means admitting what he's done and leads to him being left behind by everyone in all the worlds and getting his butt banished.

This volume picks up with Loki having to choose: face himself or die. His choice comes from the advice of the one person who he thought had abandoned him decades before, and what he becomes: amazing. And then, The End. Wow. Loki's role is so huge, and what he does saves so many beings. IT HAS TO GO ON! IT MUST!
