They Called Us Enemy by Steven Scott, George Takei, Justin Eisinger

A friend got me into graphic novels, telling me that they're just as valid a form of reading as a traditional book. It's not until "They Called Us Enemy" that I really got how a graphic novel could be the preferred form for sharing a particular story. This one has the perfect balance between narration and art, letting the emotions be told through body language and facial expression in a powerful way that conveys the deep injustice of this time in American history.
