ima start out by saying this book emotionally wrecked me in the best way. 😭

this book follows maddie who has grown up her entire life being told what to do by her parents. to them, it didn’t matter what she wanted or needed. the book starts out with maddie attending her grandmother’s funeral. she discovers that her boyfriend is cheating, so she asks her aunt who is in town for the funeral, to stay with her in oregon.

small town vibes — she meets this amazing group of friends, but one of the guys, ezra, has been giving her a hard time. they end up hanging out more often and they fall in love. maddie’s mom manipulates her into leaving oregon for school and this book depicts mental health issues very well. sad to say that i very much related to maddie in this way.

i think i cried for an hour after i finished this book. 😀 10/10 recommend if you wanna cry at the club. it does have an HEA! i just wish we got to see more of ezra and maddie at the end of the book, but it gave me closure. 🥹 the writing was beautiful and these characters will stick with me for life!

this book includes:
spice
enemies to lovers
cheating (not done by MCs)
death
small town romance
soulmates
