After That Night
by Karin Slaughter
This is my first Karin Slaughter book and I went into it with high expectations because I have heard nothing but praises for her books. I'm glad to say that this book delivered a twist I didn't see coming!
[Please be aware of the trigger warnings because this book deals with an issue that's absolutely revolting]
After That Night is a fast paced thriller that keeps readers intrigued to know how the connection happens and what that connection would reveal. It has a sinister plot hidden in its narrative that will make you feel creeped out, but you can't stop reading it either because you NEED to know the answers. My only issue with the book was how sometimes, the writing made me cringe, especially the way women & their characteristics were described and the repeated mentioning of the abuse.
That twist near the end was surprising, but what I loved most was the ending itself! I can safely say I did not see that coming. I loved reading this one.
