I've had this on my shelf for years but only recently picked it up. It took a few chapters for me to get the hang of the book, but once I did I was hooked.
I found that this book was a great reminder of some basic principles of Christian living. God is inviting us to holiness, holiness is achievable, we can have an incredible relationship with Christ, daily reading of Scripture is imperative. These aren't new themes. You're not going to stumble across something here and go, "Oh, that's what I've been doing wrong!" Rather, this book is a great refresher and reminder of how to live a Christian life.
There are 40 chapters here, which would make it a great book to read and reflect on throughout Lent. But it's good through the rest of the year too.
