The Executioner by Chris Carter

The story is better than the first book. I just thought that the author didn't give a better credit for the mc's partner in this series and expected more considering his performance on the first book. It is nice to see that the focus is on the mc since he is the main character but it will do great if the characters that supports the mc have the proper exposure and realistic personalities other than 'gagging' and 'sicked to the stomach'. Other than the fact it shows its flat characteristics, its role is overshadowed by its shallow exposure and become a cardboard-type character in the story like I had thought while reading the book. I just thought Carlos Garcia could do better than what he had done in this book. I also found it interesting that the mc is better to be a psychologist or any medicine field because of his profound knowledge (most especially because he was a psychologist and "he reads a lot") than a detective. Since reading this, he's better reading people and understanding them rather than doing detective work. I'd like to conclude he's a static main character in this series because he kinda gets the answer out of realization and luck, not because of his work at all like doing piecing together, finding patterns would be a nice flavor on this book. I only had a hard time with the characters because they bothered me a lot reading this. But not enough to feel like i wasted my time reading this. This is a great series and people (who reviewed the book) were right about this being a great book series. They are really interesting and i like the dynamic of the duo.
