The Perfectionists by Sara Shepard

3.0

Sara Shepard did it again. Here's another whodunnit novel with juicy scandals and gritty gossips about the perfect lives of five perfect girls from Beacon Heights. The story is reminiscent of the Pretty Little Liars series, but Shepard has developed a wider scope of characters - a sleazy teacher with a hidden agenda, and a therapist who stalked his patient, among others. It was impressive how Shepard boldly portrayed the lives of the high school students, and how the partying and drugs scene was not a secret. I found it refreshing that the 'mean girl' character is a boy in this novel, and we are treated to how manipulative and scheming the most popular, wealthy boy in Beacon Heights can be. Kudos to Shepard for another brilliant read!
