"Sometimes being offered tenderness feels like the very proof that you've been ruined."

It is so beautifully written that it has flooded every bit of my senses, I can't even pick up my other books. Needless to say, this book had a lot to unpack—in short, it is haunting. Ocean Vuong's writing style just have this thing, with the say he describes every detail, where you can't help but feel something.

"The thing is, I don't want my sadness to be othered from me just as I don't want my happiness to be othered. They're both mine. I made them, dammit."
