I don’t even know what to say. This book took a bit to get going but once it did, it really did and it had so much to say. The commentary on exploitation and capitalism and race and LANGUAGE and how deeply those concepts are intertwined are going to stick with me for awhile. I loved the different perspectives on revolution and what lines can and cannot be crossed in the name of liberation. So many questions this made me consider that I don’t know if I have the answer to. Is martyrdom necessary and heroic or is it an easy selfish escape? Does revolution deman violence to awake oppressors from the normal happenings of life in order to shift the system and make history? Does a strike demand death and sacrifice and ruin until the demands are met or should the revolutionaries hold the lives of the innocent civilians above the atrocities of the corrupt system?? I don’t know!!!! Amazing!!! RF Kuang I will read anything you write!!!
