The Book of the City of Ladies by Christine de Pizan

"This is so dated!" I think about a book written by a woman at the turn of the 15th century, when, really, what I should be thinking is, "This is so h*cking METAL." It's still very gratifying to see a woman drop the "men had better clean up their own gender before they go after women" mic over 600 years later.

I can't IMAGINE how women reacted to this book but it must have been amazing. Like A Doll's House, I wish I could briefly time travel back to see how it was received.
