Fire Fight by Amanda Chaperon

mysterious slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Plot
  • Loveable characters? No
  • Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

3.0

•fire chief mmc/private investigator fmc
•insta lust
•romantic suspense
•forced proximity (and they were roommates)
•reformed bad boy

Read trigger warnings some include: Kidnapping, torture, addiction, drug abuse, fire related injuries.

After getting seeked out to help solve a series of murders in the small town of Dusk Valley, Aspen aims to solve the case, but finds herself a victim to the arsonist. Running right into the flames, Crew saves the woman that left an impression on him when she got into town.

The romance… I wasn’t hooked. It is very lust fueled which is fine but i wasn’t rooting for it, there wasn’t awe moments. I lingered to figure out who was responsible for all the terror in the town and was throughly convinced the techy brother was going to be somehow involved, after the touchy incident I just felt weird about him. After finding out who is responsible and learning that there was no info about them whatsoever until after their declarations it was lackluster for me.

Thank you to Love Notes Pr and Amanda Chaperon for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
