Children of Dune by Frank Herbert

4.0

Bitch what the fuck. Reading this was an insane experience. I've been really enjoying the sequels to Dune, and this one is almost as good as the first, I think. I love how these books explore things like institutionalized religion, politics, cultural change, and other lofty things by focusing on the interiority of the characters. That sad, I'd always been told that Dune, Dune Messiah, and Children of Dune are an informal trilogy within its series, so I was kind of disappointed down to the final pages when things weren't as neatly wrapped up as I thought they'd be, but what a ride it was, I guess. Maybe I'll finish God Emperor of Dune by the time the Denis Villeneuve movies comes out.
