When this book cooks, it’s the most delightful reading experience of all time. Never before has a vampire drinking blood been so sexy. I do cringe at the scattered worship of the “western world” as being morally superior, as caring for all human life, when this is observably false. Even within the first book in the series we see slave ownership in the U.S. That doesn’t scream “western morality” to me.
