Insomnia
by Stephen King
This story is 2/3 great. 1/3 a bit messy.
It features some truly beautiful writing and reflections on old age, depression, and death. I would have taken more of that and less LSD auras but still a very good book.
I read it in part because of the Dark Tower connections. They only seemed to muddle things for me, however. Luckily the story is still good on its own, with some gut punching sequences that resonated strongly with me.
