The dynamic between Jane & Hendrick was honestly so much fun!

Jane had an instant attraction to Hendrick, but he was supposed to be her undercover bodyguard. Despite everything blowing up in their faces for a bit, they couldn't fight off the attraction once they really started spending time together and I loved every second of it! The protectiveness that Hendrick had over Jane was so heartwarming, but so was seeing Hendrick have a safe space with Jane.

Both characters had a hard past that they needed to unpack. Hendrick was forced to grow up really quick even if he didn't want to, and then was forced to make the decision to play in the NFL. When that didn't go to plan, he came back to the small town of Valley and saw that things within his family were a lot worse than he told himself they would be with his leaving. Jane jumped into fame at a young age as an actress/singer, so she never really got to experience normalcy when she was younger. Now that she is older, she chose to go to Valley University to get a taste of that normalcy. Unfortunately, not everyone was happy she was there and attracting paparazzi to the town.

The banter between Jane and Hendrick was so fun between Hendrick being a serious, broody bodyguard and Jane going after what she wanted! I loved the balance between the spice, lightheartedness, and the serious moments. The book was so well-balanced, and I loved seeing all the wallflowers being so happy from the previous books! I hope one day Hendrick's brothers will have their stories told.
