Lucy Score continues to create incredible small town worlds with endearing and lovable characters. There's been a true renaissance of books about writers, especially romance authors finding a love story. Dual POV for the best time!

Hazel had an all-too-relatable meltdown and hermit life crisis to climb out of. I especially enjoyed her having to discover the importance of social media and newsletters as a modern author. Then Zoey is an incredible best friend and support system. Her book next will be a knockout--like Christina Lauren's "The True Love Experiment".

And then we have Cam Bishop and the town of Story Lake. Hot, grumpy, and deep-down sweet. I loved getting his POV and own growth arc. While he has a lot of grumpy stereotypes Cam is his own man with dreams and challenges. Also, he's a reader who's good with animals! And his hands...

Yes, this book is long, but it's not as emotionally damaging as "The Things We Never Got Over". This is a lot lighter with more shenanigans similar to Bootleg Springs or a small-town Riley Thorn sans-mystery.
