My first time reading Toni Morrison and wow.
I love a split narrative and time jumps, though Morrison takes shifts in Love to compile a narrative which I’ve never come across done so effortlessly. No mean feat. & it makes the last 50 pages spin.
Morrison’s writing is captivating and this complex style mirrored the complexity of the love. The characters and the community are morally grey and complex themselves, with threads of their lives rich in both understandings of the word. It grips your attention & flits whilst the pieces are revealed at a steady pace
