The Story of My Life by Helen Keller
5.0

Miss Keller's lyrical writing brings her to life in these pages, and as she was only a little older than I currently am at the time of writing, I felt in reading that I was conversing with a friend. The writing is not the stiff, formal, overbearing tone of many books and biographies in which the author tries to either drive home a point or defend himself. Instead, Keller is friendly and open. Though a short section, I think her critique of La Fontaine's Fables was my favorite because she iterates opinions I can share all over a hundred years later. I've always admired Miss Keller, and reading this book not only adds to my admiration but makes me adore her as a person.
