It’s the second time that I’ve read this book, and I enjoyed it as much as the first. Kuang did a phenomenal job IMO of blending fantasy and “growing up” of Rin with the horror of the Second Sino-Japanese war. Some parts of the book are incredibly hard to read knowing that aspects of this book existed. I am looking forward to read the rest of the series.
