The Edge of Everything
by Jeff Giles
This is a unique book. Very different from my usual YA. But I don’t understand the reason for including some of the characters. What is the point of Dallas? I will admit the book is a bit slow and the world building needed quite a bit of work. The only way we find out much about the Lowlands is through X’s demonstration in the snow. Wish the description wasn’t so vague and actually let us imagine what it would look like.
I didn’t realize that there was a sequel, so I was pretty disappointed in the last bit of the book until I figured that out. I just don’t know if I can make it through another 300 pages.
