Overall, somewhat disappointed. This book had many very unlikeable characters and the luck of the main character is pretty slim. The last twenty pages were very rushed and I felt like it was just too unrealistic (even for middle grade) for my liking. As I was reading I was just so frustrated but I think that was the point. This book tackles many big issues, such as race and stereotypes in a very real setting. Though there were many positive influences, I do not fully think there were enough for all the mean, racist and unfair ones.

If you are to go into this book know that there are very unlikeable characters and that this book is not all daisies and sunshines like the fun/happy cover the book presents.
