Don't Cry for Me
by Daniel Black
This is really more of a 3.5 from me. The writing is lyrical and a delight. The content is challenging and insightful. My only disappointment is that the story is only developed from one perspective. I was expecting the son's reaction/response. Really, any sort of reaction to better understand the reality of the situation would have been better. We only have what the father thinks about how his son felt. The story would have been richer, the Father's story more meaningful, had both perspectives been represented. Not surprisingly, the ending felt abrupt.
