The One Minute Manager by Kenneth H. Blanchard, Spencer Johnson
4.0

There's a lot of hurtful reviews of this book on this site. There's also a lot of nuance that is lost or completely misconstrued from people that apparently didn't read the book but just skimmed quickly over it. So, don't use summaries found here and instead use the book summary which is of higher accuracy.

Yes:
The content can be summarized in a single page.
The writing is very simple and characters one dimensional.
The central message feels like common sense, self-help, obvious stuff.

But the truth is that I see people in the position of managing others failing at this very basic, allegedly common, things. Maybe that's why the 100 odd pages are needed to explain the concept. Maybe that's why it is written in a straight forward but allegorical manner.

It certainly isn't Shakespeare levels of fiction drama, but it didn't set itself to be it. It is a simple attempt at explaining how to properly do the basic things expected from a good manager, that 80% of managers fail to do and to understand. Take your time with this one, it only takes a couple of hours to read but it can get deep if you read critically with your brain engaged and not in automatic.
