What a fun adaptation! As usual for gothic horror, it starts as a slow burn but if you can hang on until around page 50 it takes off and doesn’t stop.
I loved all of the fungus imagery and quite enjoyed where she went with the mushrooms. I loved the not to subtle pronoun shift and the creating of an entire culture was really unique and interesting.
It’s taken me forever to finally pick this up but sped through it in two sittings and I can’t wait to visit the second and soon to be third book.
