If I’m being honest, I’m not usually a fan of the miscommunication trope — I found myself wanting to yell, “Just talk to each other!” That said, it was handled tactfully here and added more depth to the story than I expected. Watching how Wren’s mind works is both fascinating and exciting. The world-building is incredibly unique, and I absolutely love seeing an intelligent, capable female main character take the lead. Getting a glimpse into Torj’s insecurities added an emotional layer that made me root for him even more. I’m so excited for the final book!
