This was fun. I gave it 3 stars because it felt undeveloped. All the cool magic is unexplained and woefully under-examined. There’s no explanation of the different types of magic, the bonding process, the motives of the villain, etc. It simply felt skeletal, like the author hadn’t quite finished. I wanted more development because it’s a cool universe.
