this was extreme. when i read the reviews, i had no idea what i was in for. the first book, the killer’s violence and killing never had anything sexual. so i truly didn’t expect this second book to be too bad. but holy fuck. i’m a bit shellshocked. the extremities of each aspect of the killer. his victims and what he did to them, his interactions with cole 8 years prior and his, well, creative ways he found to s/a cole, his descriptions. not to mention seeing cole’s psyche break down as the book goes on and he’s unable to find the killer. this was a very, very heavy read, and one i didn’t expect to be so graphically sexually depraved, however i didn’t dnf it despite how triggering it was so that says a lot (positively). it was well written and i was still incredibly tied to cole and noah’s story
Graphic: Murder, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Sexual violence, Death, Injury/Injury detail, Rape, Torture, and Stalking
Moderate: Kidnapping
Minor: Gun violence, Violence, and Car accident
