do yourself a favor and listen to this audiobook. pulled me RIGHT out of my reading slump. the slow burn was actually so good even though it did turn insta love SO fast. I loved the chaotic plot going every which way … I’d rather be busy and entertained than in one place and bored tbh. I wish I read this sooner but the size of the book was SO daunting. I actually loved this .. I’ve been waiting for a good fantasy book for so long and this truly did not disappoint and I am a harsh critic. Kingfisher … no. He’s Fisher to me cuz I can’t stand that full name.
Now let’s get into some random stuff. Okay fae have good sense of smell and all but he said WHAT about WHAT nectar ??? insane to hear over audiobook and I was only 200 pages in. Literally where did Onyx go in the last 100 pages … is he good?? I’m convinced if you’re a Ridoc girly you’re a Carrion girly. I think it’s funny how they told Saeris she was speaking the Old Fae language all along and that humans had adopted it … but then they pull out words like Zilvaren acting like that fits in the same dictionary. The ending was intense but also not as insane as I was expecting with these reviews. Is it rly that big of a deal? Fisher is prob gonna follow her anywhere anyways so they’ll figure it out. Hyped for the next book but wish I waited to read this one so I didn’t have to wait ugh.
