The Ghost Junkies by Elizabeth J. Rekab

3.0

Thank you BookSirens for providing me with this e-book quickly after the release for free in exchange for an honest review. Melissa (Mel) has the ability to see ghosts or at least her father on every memorial day since his death. Whilst navigating the complexities of high school Mel gets closer to Seth who can also see ghosts and convinces Mel to explore her power further. This book was written quite well and the characters were well developed and fleshed out so naturally. There were some twists I could have never predicted which made the book very enjoyable. I loved some of the character arcs. Near the end I felt super gripped and couldn’t stop reading, however I thought the pacing for this book was a tad off with the book slowing down quite a bit in the middle and suddenly rushing to the end. The pacing didn’t effect the suspense and thrill of this book which was lucky. I think people who liked ‘The Taking of Jake Livingston’ would really enjoy this book. I am giving this book 3.5 stars because I did really enjoy it but it wasn’t quite as gripping as I would like.
