Very very disappointing

I'm currently reading The edge of the ocean by L.D. Lapinski. This is the second book in the Strangeworlds travel agency trilogy. I'm reading a Dutch copy from the library whilst listening to the audiobook. Reading this for my Series TBR.

Not enjoying this as much as book one. There is a certain trope being used, which I really hate. I do think it's very fun we are getting to know a new world. 

I got pretty far into this and still didn't enjoy it, so decided to just give it a rating and stop reading. Rating is pretty high, because I still think the concept and characters are great. But this was a huge disappointment.
