Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews

Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.

  • Ageism towards women
  • Internalized misogyny: "All women who dress nice are desperate and they all want my man."
  • "Not like other girls" type of character
  • No other prominent female characters outside of mother/sister/grandmother roles, i.e., non-threatening to her man
  • "Every guy is obsessed with me" trope
  • Clothes described way too often with no reason
  • ML wants to be called "Mad," and others do it unironically.
  • FL is a placeholder character with no personality and a very basic moral code
