Burn for Me by Ilona Andrews
Did not finish book. Stopped at 60%.
- Ageism towards women
- Internalized misogyny: "All women who dress nice are desperate and they all want my man."
- "Not like other girls" type of character
- No other prominent female characters outside of mother/sister/grandmother roles, i.e., non-threatening to her man
- "Every guy is obsessed with me" trope
- Clothes described way too often with no reason
- ML wants to be called "Mad," and others do it unironically.
- FL is a placeholder character with no personality and a very basic moral code
Graphic: Misogyny, Kidnapping, and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Torture
