This was  outstanding. I've enjoyed many of the Travers/Wharton stories, this one may have been the most satisfying. The intricately structured alibis at the heart of the case, the candid acknowledgement right at the outset of the role luck plays in breaking any of them, and the perfect balance between the contributions of Travers and Wharton made this a delight to read, marred only by the knowledge that Bush moved on with Travers and left Wharton behind.  It was a detective partnership unlike others I've read - more like Mycroft and Sherlock than Holmes and Watson, and the personalities of both are so well drawn.
