The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires

4.0

This is a story about a little girl who is a maker, but the thing in her head isn't coming out right. I like that the illustrations told other parts of the story too, and that it stresses that sometime we have to walk away from a problem to better reflect. I also liked that her "failures" were just what the other members of her community needed.

For: readers who want a book about invention and overcoming feelings of failure.

Possible red flags: tantrums, anger, and feelings of failure.
