The Dixon Rule
by Elle Kennedy
This was the perfect book - I can’t believe how obsessed I am with these characters and this universe. Elle Kennedy truly can do no wrong with her books.
Fake dating, forced proximity, and a hockey romance!? I couldn’t think of a better book for me. Diana and Shane were both powerhouse characters - their chemistry and banter were off the charts! Shane was such a sweet character - him being a relationship guy and proud of it was a nice change to the typical fuck-boy hockey characters. Diana was a dynamic character - she had all of the spunk and sass to be addictive to read.
One of my favorite things about Elle Kennedy’s books is they’re often more than just romance - there’s usually a deeper storyline at play. This book dealt with the death of a parent, physical and mental abuse, and anxiety/panic attacks. These serious topics were all handled with such care and consideration while also driving the plot forward in a gripping way. Shane was so protective and warm with what Diana was going through and Diana was the rock that Shane needed for what he was going through. The support they showed each other was beautiful to read.
This was a steamy read with phenomenal main characters and just as great side characters. I love that we still got to see the OG Briar characters make their appearances and if we don’t get a book about Logan’s daughter I might riot. I couldn’t recommend this book more!
