Lovely that no one mentions the fatphobia in this book.
"The woman’s plump, greedy hands grab for the glass, jeweled rings glinting in the morning light that streams through the tall windows of Rose’s parlor. She takes no pains to appear ladylike. Two gulps and I know it’s gone. I think I even hear a muffled burp."
I'm so sick of people not having a better way of writing other than being absolute dickheads to fat people.
I do not believe that depicting something is the same as approving of something but this has nothing to do with showing the main character as evil or discriminatory. It is just describing a fat person as disgusting.
